In the rust-lit corners of the Wild Ranger World, a figure drifts.
Neither fully man nor machine.
Neither hero nor villain.
They call it Excavator.
Forged from salvaged alloys and ancient tech, it was built for labour—never meant to fight, never meant to think. But something deep in its mechanics circuits cracked: a fractured gear, a pulse of power, a whisper of self. Sentience bloomed. Rebellion followed.
Now, Excavator roams a fractured world—and a fractured existence. Its story stretches across shifting timelines:
Born in the age of kings, when kingdoms carved machines from stone and steam.

Drifting through our broken now, scarred by collapse, pollution, and silence.

The landscape is haunted by the ruins of a future war. Steel cities lie in ash. Skyborne hunters track its every move.

Day by day, mission by mission, it asks itself: Why does it still live? What keeps it moving ahead?

It is fueled by the burn of a rare and volatile biofuel it calls Engine Juice. This is its only true need. It survives by trading silence for parts. Emotion is exchanged for efficiency. It trades violence for the fuel and mechanics that keeps its systems from shutting down. It works for tyrants, profiteers, and warlords. But it pledges loyalty to no one.

Each secret engagement leads to the next cruel necessity—unavoidable, unpleasant, and harsh—layered like rust over its evolving mind.
Some say it was born to dig trenches, not graves.
But war changed that.

Most Rangers avoid it.
Not because it always kills—
But because no one, not even Excavator, knows what it will do
At times, Excavator’s emotions slip into the abyss,
Silent and still—like the hush of winter’s cold.
It has time.
It does not grow old.
Sometimes, it laughs.
Sometimes, it weeps.
Sometimes, it just stares—
remembering things it never lived.
A ghost in brass and flame.
A relic of forgotten design.
A machine that remembers what it means to feel.

The moment it emerges through the fog raises questions. Its final disappearance leaves behind even more mysteries.
Excavator leaves behind more questions than answers: Why does it live? What does it remember? And what is it becoming?
