In an alternate reality, cricket has transformed into something far more powerful — and infinitely more dangerous. Across the globe, elite Armour Academies have risen. They are sponsored by nation-states, mega-corporations, and visionary industrialists. These institutions are more than training grounds. They are universities of combat. They fuse advanced education with high-performance sport. They shape a new global competitor.

The Academy’s core includes the Armour Programme. This cutting-edge system of futuristic cricket armour is constantly upgraded. In-house innovation and scientific research fuel these upgrades. The suits evolve with each season, enhanced by breakthroughs in materials science, kinetic weaponry, and biomechanical feedback. Cricketeers train, test, and compete in these uniforms as part of their education — both on and off the field.

The most elite of these recruits ascend to the Pro League, a globally televised arena of skill, spectacle, and sponsorship. There, corporations brand the armour. Nations place their bets. Secretive, unspoken, and unknown to the general public, the World League recruits only the rarest few from the Pro League. These Cricketeers are chosen for their skill. They are selected for something deeper — a resonance with the ancient energy that powers the shrines scattered across Earth. For while the university armour is engineered through technology, in the World League, the suits undergo true transformation. Here, science gives way to sorcery. The armour becomes alive with ancestral magic. It is fused with spiritual elements drawn from temples.
These temples are buried beneath the Arctic ice, jungle canopies, scorched deserts, and forgotten mountains. These shrines are not just monuments. They are gateways.

And so, the World League was formed — not as sport, but as preparation. Its Cricketeers are Earth’s unofficial guardians. They are trained to weed out infiltrators. Their duties include containing incursions and gathering intelligence on the beings slipping through the cracks of reality.
The Hidden War: Entities, Temples, and the Future That Waits
While the public sees only sport, spectacle, and sponsorship, a much deeper reality exists beneath the pitch. Entities from other realms have begun to cross into our world through the Rabbit Holes. These are unstable portals tethered to ancient shrines. These beings do not always arrive with fire and fury. Some are shapeshifters. Some are nearly indistinguishable from us. They walk among us, watching, learning — working quietly within society, infiltrating systems, sowing unrest, or simply waiting.
But the true battle — the one the shrines were built for — has not yet come. It is inevitable.
